What is a Ti-base?
A Ti-base is a titanium base that connects the implant to a CAD/CAM crown or framework (zirconia, lithium disilicate or PMMA). The milled part is cemented to the Ti-base in the lab and the assembly is screwed to the implant. In the digital workflow it is step 2 and last, after the scan body.
When to use it
- Screw-retained monolithic zirconia single crowns.
- Hybrid custom abutments in the aesthetic zone.
- Frameworks on multi-unit abutments.
- Cases where cement in the mouth should be avoided.

Ti-base FAQ
Are Ti-base and CAD/CAM link the same part?
Yes. The EFF catalogue calls it «Link for CAD/CAM»; the market also calls it TiBase or Ti-base.
What material is it?
Grade 5 titanium (Ti-6Al-4V), CE marked under Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR).
What torque on a multi-unit abutment?
CAD/CAM components on the mini (multi-unit) abutment are tightened to 10 Ncm with a calibrated torque wrench.
Do I need a scan body?
Yes, in the digital workflow: first record the implant position with the scan body, then design the crown on the matching Ti-base.
